For years, I have written in my posts and outlooks my visions of the Chinese policy regarding Hong Kong and Taïwan.
The box of Hong Kong is tick and now China is looking to Taïwan. Xi Jinping, on January 1st, transferred to control of the PLA from the State Council to the CMC, a committee managed by himself…
We have to bear in mind that China should not plan to use force to take over Taïwan but the tension is there in place…
In addition, Trump is playing a dangerous game with Taïwan. The impeachment procedure should be fast engaged if we want to avoid reaching the point of no return.
Trump stop to communicate after the chaos in the Capitol. Pompeo is doing the dirty job. He announced a few days ago the visit to Taïwan of the US ambassador at the U.N.
Today Pompeo said he was lifting restrictions on contacts between U.S. officials and their Taiwanese counterparts.
China will not accept that and the doomsday clock is ticking. Biden and the US Congress will keep a firm stance versus China but we have to hope they will de-escalate the tension fueled by Trump.
To be clear the 25th amendment is not strong enough. Only an impeachment procedure with a disqualification will be efficient.
The first needs the majority of the Chamber and 2/3 of the Senate, the second has to reach 2/3 of both chambers.
Disqualification will impeach Trump running for 2024 elections.
Never the Navy was so engaged in the China Sea and Trump is still the chief of the US Army…
Why I am so concerned?
1 / TSMC is a Taiwanese company weighting 54% of the world semiconductor foundry production.
2 / $3.37 TRILLION is the Total trade passing through the South China Sea in 2016
