Beijing Warns of Potential Covid Resurgence… And Japan bans entry from all countries…

Dec 26, 2020 | China, Geopolitics, Global Macro, Healthcare, Uncategorized

Officials in the Chinese capital have warned the public to be on high alert for Covid-19 flare-ups as several districts report new infections, including one of an employee at a U.S. tech giant.

The warning comes as several districts in Beijing, including Shunyi and Chaoyang, home to a large swath of the city’s expatriate community, have reported multiple imported and locally transmitted Covid-19 cases.

This announcement is important for the global supply chain. The shortage of containers and the few cargo capacity in regular commercial airline aircraft  to have to be added to potential containment in China…

Another issue concerns the foreigner workers targeted by Chinese authorities as Covid spreaders… Could be easy retaliation process facing to the Trump administration ongoing policy targeting Chine companies listed in the US or convinced to have links with the PLA.

Japan will ban entry from all countries to prevent the spread of the more contagious U.K. strain of the coronavirus, the government announced Saturday.

The ban will be in effect from Monday through the end of January. Japanese nationals and foreigners living in Japan will be to the country.
